Meet Kaylyn,

Welcome to my corner of the web! I'm Kaylyn, a proud 10th generation Floridian deeply rooted in the unique landscape of Southwest Florida, near the Western Everglades. Growing up barefoot among oak hammocks and cypress tree domes, I inherited tales of pioneering ancestors who settled in this region, igniting my passion for protecting this wonderous and unique place.

I am dedicated to protecting Florida's natural treasures by any means necessary, whether it's removing invasive pythons threatening our ecosystems or safeguarding our land from being lost forever to development. With over a decade of hands-on experience in agriculture and land management across the Southern United States, I've become a proactive advocate and on-the-ground spokesperson for the various threats Florida is currently facing.

Armed with an undergraduate degree in natural resource management and currently pursuing a master's at the University of Florida in forest resource conservation, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my work on top of my “Wild” Florida woman side. I'm a true Southern woman who knows how to live off and on our land, yet can clean up nicely to tackle the necessary work.

I strive to preserve the Florida I've known and the legacy of generations before me for my son and the generations to come. This heritage is under constant threat, and it's crucial to take action now to ensure its continuity and protection for the future.

Beyond my professional pursuits, I find joy in backpacking, exploring new destinations, embarking on historical adventures with my son and family across Florida, and enjoying trail rides and hikes with my beloved hound dogs.

Thank you for joining and supporting me on this journey!

Let’s work together to protect the future of Florida, for generations to come.

Join me in protecting Florida!

Removal of Invasive Species

In the Everglades we deal with a number of invasive species wreaking havoc on our local ecosystems. Removal of these species, like the Burmese Pythons through hunting gives our native wildlife a fighting chance.

Conservation

Did you know Florida has over 1,200 people here everyday? If we don’t protect our wild areas from being converted to development, we may lose Wild Florida and it’s wildlife habitats forever.

Story-telling & Advocacy

As a deeply rooted Florida native, keeping our history and culture alive through story-telling and advocating for those who are still here is key to my efforts.
